Wisdom of Saint Jean-Marie Vianney

"The sun never hides his light for fear of inconveniencing the owls."

--Saint Jean-Marie Vianney, a usual maxim, from Life of the Blessed Curé d'Ars, by Abbé Alfred Monnin.

That is to say: the sun does not stifle his own nature "in consideration" of 'polite' society. Just so, a Christian must not excuse himself from living the Faith before others on the plea that it makes them uncomfortable or inconvenienced.
